Join the Demelza Events Team and become a key part of our wide range of events, including mass participation and challenge events.
From London Marathon and Paris Marathon to skydives and abseils or our annual Bubble Rush and Celebration of Christmas, we have a variety of exciting and successful events for you to be a part of!
We are looking for a passionate individual who is enthusiastic about events and fundraising, capable of delivering engaging and impactful stewardship. In this role, you'll oversee various events from start to finish, including setup, marketing, logistics, stewardship, and evaluation.
This role is full time (37 hours per week), Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with some weekend, evening and bank holiday working required.

EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT PRIVACY NOTICE
As part of any recruitment process, Demelza Hospice Care for Children uses the services of a third party recruitment portal, Networx Recruitment. By submitting an application, your data will be processed using this platform.
Demelza is committed to meeting its data protection obligations and this notice summarises the personal data that we collect and process for any applicants.
What information does Demelza Hospice Care for Children collect?
Demelza Hospice Care for Children collects a range of information about you. This includes:
your name, address and contact details, including email address and telephone number;
details of your qualifications, skills, experience and employment history;
information about your current level of remuneration, including benefit entitlements;
whether or not you have a disability for which the organisation needs to make reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process; and
information about your entitlement to work in the UK.
Demelza Hospice Care for Children may collect this information in a variety of ways. For example, data might be contained in application forms, obtained from your passport or other identity documents, or collected through interviews or other forms of assessment.
Demelza Hospice Care for Children may also collect personal data about you from third parties, such as references supplied by former employers and information from criminal records checks for relevant roles. Demelza Hospice Care for Children will seek information from third parties only once a job offer to you has been made and will inform you that it is doing so.
Data will be stored in a range of different places, including on your application record, in HR management systems and on other IT systems (including email).
Why does Demelza Hospice Care for Children process personal data?
Demelza Hospice Care for Children needs to process data to undertake processes, such as shortlisting and interviews, prior to entering into a contract with you. Demelza Hospice Care for Children may also need to process your data to enter into a contract with you.
In some cases, Demelza Hospice Care for Children needs to process data to ensure that it is complying with its legal obligations. For example, it is required to check a successful applicant's eligibility to work in the UK before employment starts.
Demelza Hospice Care for Children has a legitimate interest in processing personal data during the recruitment process and for keeping records of the process. Processing data from job applicants allows Demelza Hospice Care for Children to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm a candidate's suitability for employment and decide to whom to offer a job. For some roles, Demelza Hospice Care for Children is obliged to seek information about criminal convictions and offences. Where the organisation seeks this information, it does so because it is necessary for it to carry out its obligations and exercise specific rights in relation to employment.
Demelza processes such information to carry out its obligations and as permitted under GDPR article 9.2g and Data Protection Act 2018 schedule 1 part 2, 11.
The organisation will not use your data for any purpose other than the recruitment exercise for which you have applied.
Who has access to data?
Your data is hosted on a third-party platform, Network Recruitment (managed by Iris Software Group Ltd). As a SaaS or Cloud provider, they will host the data but have no reason to use the data nor will they have any ongoing access to the information that you upload.
Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the HR team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers or individuals in the business area with a vacancy and IT employees if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.
If you application is successful, then your data will be further processed as explained in our Employee Privacy Policy, which will be shared with you at the time of your appointment.
As would be common in any recruitment process, Demelza may share your details in the completion of the reference checks or with employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks and the Disclosure and Barring Service to obtain necessary criminal records checks.
Demelza will not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.
How does Demelza Hospice Care for Children protect data?
Demelza Hospice Care for Children takes the security of your data seriously. It has internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by our employees in the proper performance of their duties. For how long does Demelza Hospice Care for Children keep data?
If your application is not shortlisted or if you are unsuccessful at interview, Demelza will hold your data on Networx Recruitment database for six months after the end of the relevant recruitment process. At the end of that period, your data is deleted or destroyed, through an automatic process. All other data will be manually deleted after this time, for example, interview question responses.
If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be automatically transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment on a third party Employment Platform, Cascade ((managed by Iris Software Group Ltd). The periods for which your data will be held can be found in the Employee Privacy Notice, available on our intranet.
Your rights
As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can:
access and obtain a copy of your data on request;
require the organisation to change incorrect or incomplete data;
require the organisation to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing; and
object to the processing of your data where the organisation is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.

What if you do not provide personal data?
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to the organisation during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, Demelza Hospice Care for Children may not be able to process your application fully or at all.
